Embassy（大使館）
- Placed in: Foreign capitals (only Tokyo in Japan)（置かれる場所：外国の首都（日本では東京のみ））
- Top: Ambassador（トップ：大使）
Main role（主な役割）
- General diplomacy between the two countries (political, economic, and cultural exchanges)（両国の外交全般（政治・経済・文化交流））
- International treaties and diplomatic negotiations（国際条約や外交交渉）
- Liaison between your government and the Japanese government（自国政府と日本政府の連絡窓口）
- Protection of nationals residing in Japan (including some procedures such as passports and visas)（在留自国民の保護（パスポート、ビザなど一部業務も））

Main role（主な役割）

- Promoting economic and cultural exchange between one’s own country and the region（自国と地域との経済・文化交流促進）

Main role（主な役割）
- Simple support for citizens (emergency contact, document delivery, etc.)（自国民への簡易的な支援（緊急連絡や書類受け渡しなど））
- Promoting exchanges and friendship with the local community（地域との交流・友好促進）
- They often do not handle full-scale visa and passport procedures.（本格的なビザ・パスポート業務は行わないことが多い）
